REDWAVE – Technology from the Green Heart of Austria
Austria is a country where environmental awareness and protection are deeply rooted in everyday life. Sustainability is more than a concept – it’s a lived commitment. It’s no coincidence that this culture of responsibility gave rise to REDWAVE.
REDWAVE, the technology brand of BT-Systems GmbH (part of BT-Group Holding GmbH), was established in 2004 in the green heart of Austria. Its roots go back to 1997, when Heinrich Fuchs founded BT-Wolfgang Binder GmbH. Originally focused on plant engineering for the mineral and conveying industries, the company soon evolved into a pioneer in sensor-based sorting technologies.
Today, sorting technology is at the core of REDWAVE’s expertise. Over the past two decades, the company has become a leading provider of high-performance, AI-supported sorting systems and a trusted innovation partner in the global recycling and waste processing sector.
With subsidiaries in the USA, Germany, and Singapore, and its headquarters in Austria, REDWAVE operates on a global scale. Our company campus was built in line with the latest sustainable construction standards – a tangible reflection of our commitment to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
On July 24, 2024, BT-Wolfgang Binder GmbH and BT-Anlagenbau GmbH were merged to form BT-Systems GmbH as part of a strategic realignment. This consolidation of expertise has created a forward-looking technology leader with strong innovative power and an international focus.
Today, REDWAVE employs around 400 people in Austria and across its international offices. Together, we continue to shape a global success story and remain a reliable, forward-thinking partner in a rapidly evolving industry.
Customers, industry partners, experts, and research institutions – we are all part of this shared journey. Because the future of the circular economy is built together.
